Every child – no matter their learning requirements or home language – should be given an equal opportunity to learn and develop their communication and language skills.
One of the major teaching goals in the classroom is that children develop a life-long love of reading. Research conducted by the Nuffield Foundation indicates that reading frequently with children from a young age can boost their language skills by eight months. Polylino not only allows all young children to read along to their favourite stories in English but allows them to listen to them in another language.
Polylino’s vision is to open the door to literature and to bring the magic of storytime to every child. With hundreds of picture books on the service from UK publishers which align with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and Key Stage One curriculum, Polylino also works as a solution to support language development in childrenwho have Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND), or speak English as an Additional Language (EAL).
