Ben Mahoney

UK Country Manager

Tell us about what you do at ILT Education
Following the launch of ILT Education in the UK in September 2021 the focus of my role, with the UK team is to raise market awareness of our products and ensure we are bringing the magic of storytime to as many children within EYFS & KS1 as possible. I work closely with marketing, sales and customer support to ensure maximum success within the market.

How did you find yourself working for an EdTech company?
By accident really. In 2015 I was made redundant from a telecoms company and during my job search came across an EdTech startup in London. I was blown away by the fact they had a product that made such a real difference to the lives of teachers and children. I hadn’t been aware of the EdTech industry before that, but I will never work in any other sector again.

What are you most proud of since joining ILT Education?
I am most proud of my wonderful UK team. They approach every day and all situations with a huge amount of positivity, determination and a belief in the company vision. They are a pleasure to work with.

If you weren’t at ILT Education, what would you be doing?
I would love to run an ultra-marathon however, the amount of training time required means I’d have to sacrifice time with my children (or my job) and so it will have to wait……. for now!

Business Development Manager

Tell us about what you do at ILT Education
As Business Development Manager I am responsible for hunting new sales opportunities, fostering and developing new relationships with potential partners and clients is paramount to my daily working ethic. I love it because this enables me to really think outside the box and look at new ways of reaching our potential clients.

How did you find yourself working for an EdTech company?
Well I am actually a qualified ‘Primary Teacher’ and a school governor. After working as a teacher for more than ten years, I decided it was time for a career change. Working within EdTech and in particular for ILT not only allows me to continue to share my passion for education, but also for me to spend more time with my family whilst delivering a vital education resource to children.

What are you most proud of since joining ILT Education?
I’m very proud to contribute to the UK education sector and as such, ensure every child gets the best education possible. My job enables me personally to support Nurseries, Primary School’s as well as the children, staff and parents who are actively involved in education.

If you weren’t at ILT Education, what would you be doing?
It would have to be working with horses and teaching others to ride. Since a very early age horses have played a role in my life. Having horses has taught me a lot about myself, and being outside with nature has so many benefits. Connecting with the horses and the comradery of fellow riders is so satisfying and fulfilling.

Anna Elliott

Global Head of Marketing

Tell us about what you do at ILT Education
I wear two hats at ILT Education; I’m responsible for all marketing and communications activities for our UK market, and I also oversee our international marketing activities! This means that I work really closely with inspiring colleagues not just in the UK, but across Europe and in North America to share best practice and creative ideas.

How did you find yourself working for an EdTech company?
Throughout my career I have worked within education and music, and I’ve always been intrigued by how technology is able to support more traditional aspects in these sectors. Having recently become a parent myself, I have a new awareness and understanding of how EdTech solutions can support a child’s development so when the opportunity arose to work for ILT Education I leapt for it!

What are you most proud of since joining ILT Education?
I’m most proud of the work we have achieved to bring ILT Education and Polylino to the UK market! It’s been so exciting to speak to people within the industry and hear their enthusiasm for what Polylino can do, and how impactful it has been elsewhere in the Nordic and European markets.

If you weren’t at ILT Education, what would you be doing?
I’ve often toyed with the idea of becoming a teacher as I love working with children – their creativity and ideas know no bounds! So maybe I would have embraced my Geography degree and would be climbing hills around the UK as a Geography teacher discussing various details of strata formation!
